L’Auberge Lake Charles Casino Resort, a Pinnacle Entertainment property, opened on Memorial Day Weekend of 2005. The facility is located on Port of Lake Charles land at the mouth of Contraband Bayou off I-210 at Nelson Road. The riverboat casino is the largest single-deck riverboat of its kind in the world and the only single-deck riverboat in the state. The vessel is 225 feet wide and 330 feet long, with an approximate gross gaming area of 48,490 square feet, including 60 table games and over 1,600 slot machines.
Magnolia LNG is a mid-scale LNG export project, with four liquefaction units (trains) and will produce up to 8 million metric tons per year of LNG. The project is located on the Industrial Canal’s Turning Basin. Magnolia LNG will receive natural gas through an existing Kinder Morgan Louisiana Pipeline. The gas will be treated, liquefied & stored onsite. The LNG will then be loaded onto LNG carriers for export overseas; LNG carriers and barges for domestic marine distribution; & LNG trucks for road distribution to LNG refueling stations in Louisiana and the surrounding states.
Chicago Bridge & Iron Company, a state-of-the-art module fabrication and assembly facility has been constructed on 300 acres of Port Property at Big Lake and Lincoln Roads. Shaw’s new module fabrication facility will primarily produce structural, piping and equipment modules for new nuclear power plants. Based upon current estimated requirements for these modules, the facility will employ 1,400 workers or more at full capacity.
IFG Port Holdings
IFG Port Holdings is an enterprise engaged in freight forwarding and acting as shipping agents at the Port of Lake Charles.
Firestone presently handles approximately 50,000 tons of rubber through the port’s warehouses. This is all domestic rubber that is delivered to the port by rail for distribution via rail and truck to facilities in Canada, North Carolina and other destinations.

Southern Union Trunkline the company leases land from the Port of Lake Charles. Approximately 3,500,000-5,000,000 tons of liquefied natural gas are imported yearly from Algeria. In 2005, the facility expanded its capacity and leased additional property from the Port. Annual tonnage received at this facility is expected to double over the next five years.
Dongsung International, Inc., is well-established as a world-leading force in the development and manufacturing of many types of insulation, specializing in Cryogenic insulation. The Lake Charles facility caters to the cryogenic industry and aspirations of the U.S.-based LNG companies along with the full range of traditional insulation materials and service, such as hot, cold, personal protection and acoustics.
Alcoa receives spent anode butts that are crushed and mixed with calcined coke and coal tar to form new electrodes. These electrodes are shipped to Canada for use in electric furnaces in processing aluminum. Approximately 650,000 tons are handled at this facility annually.
Big Lake Fuels will produce 12,500 barrels per day of 87 octane gasoline using Methanol-to-Gasoline technology licensed from ExxonMobil Research and Engineering. The plant will convert approximately 130 million standard cubic feet per day of dry natural gas into methanol, then convert methanol to conventional gasoline.
Port Aggregates leases this facility from the Port of Lake Charles. Approximately 900,000/1,000,000 tons of limestone are imported annually from Mexico. This limestone is crushed and used for road construction material.
